Michelin star restaurant
Cheval Blanc Les Trois Rois

The Cheval Blanc restaurant in Les Trois Rois Hotel in Basel’s old town has, thanks to chef de cuisine Peter Knogl, been awarded two Michelin stars and 18 Gault Millau points. He is a master of Mediterranean haute cuisine and allows his guests to enjoy a firework of colour, taste explosions and shapes. This is why he was chosen as Chef of the Year 2011. There is a good reason why Peter Knogl called his cookbook “Ma cuisine passionnée”. The wine list includes 700 different wines, including a number from the house of Château de Cheval Blanc, which gave the restaurant its name. The view of the Rhine flowing by from the restaurant is particularly impressive.

Standard restaurant
Osteria Acqua

An atmospheric Italian ambience awaits guests in the Osteria Acqua in the converted waterworks in Basel. In 2005, Simon Lutz turned his dream of creating a restaurant which would go beyond the ordinary into reality. More than just a hint of Tuscany makes this a perfect meeting place for a relaxed “apuntamento galante” by candlelight. There are special offers each day made from market-fresh ingredients, prepared in an elevated Italian style. Just reading the menu in Italian and German makes guests realise they are in for a real treat. Individual menus can be compiled from a range of offers and chef de cuisine Diego Carli shows off his culinary skills with a delicious 7 course menu.

Contemporary restaurant
Bel Etage im Teufelhof

The Bel Etage restaurant in Basel’s Teufelhof gallery hotel exudes a dignified atmosphere. The four bright, connected rooms have been furnished in modest elegance and can also be used individually. A la carte dishes and set menus that change every day make up the menu and a well stocked wine cellar also satisfies discerning guests. The professional duo in the kitchen, Michael Bader and Ernst Zahnd, carefully work on the dishes – including elegant business lunches during the day with the right glass of wine. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy a meal outdoors under the canopy in the Hotel Teufelhof’s garden.
